Summer a Success, 5th Annual 5K Run Coming Up!

We have had a very successful summer at the library, offering 14 edutainment programs for all ages. Four hundred and eighty-eight children and adults attended summer programs. We petted animals, learned about the American flag, how to grow our own plants, saw an awesome yo-yo and spin-top performance and learned about lots of percussion instruments. We enjoyed story time and reading, visited with local authors, watched movies, and had a good time. We collected 100 pounds of food for the food pantry, and through your generosity, we were able to give away 100 prizes this year, including 96 sets of school supplies. Whether you volunteered your time or money, donated food, or attended as a spectator, thank you for participating in our summer programs.
The 5th annual Friends of the Library 5K Fun Run Walk or Crawl will be September 15, 2012 at City Park on Texas Street. Call 903.856.3302 for details or swing by the library’s blog at http://pccpl.blogspot.com for forms and more information.
