LIBRARY CORNER BY LILY MARSHALL

For the month of November 2017, we're bringing Food for Fines back! Bring new, non-perishable food items for credit toward library fines. Receive $0.50 credit for every item brought . The items that are collected will go to God's Closet. We're also excited to announce that the Library will start having ESL classes every Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, starting December 2, 2017. The class is sponsored by Capital One. This class is free to all who want to attend! No sign-ups needed! Remember, all items in the book sale are $0.10! We hope to see you there!

The Pittsburg Camp County Public Library is getting ready for Summer Reading! We will have several big summer programs with school supply drawings. We have several sponsors who donate their time, money, and services. We will be advertising these events in the Pittsburg Gazette, our website, Facebook, and we will also send flyers out to the schools in May. This is an exciting time of the year for us!

Without Genealogy, Life Would Be Boring


The Faye McMinn Genealogical Research Center of the Pittsburg Camp County Public Library received the following request:
"I am hoping you can direct me in the right direction to find a final piece of documentation that will permit me to submit an application to DAR."

Our AWESOME VOLUNTEER responded with the information the lady requested, finding it in the newly archived copies of the Pittsburg Gazette Digitization Project. This digitization project continues to benefit researchers daily!

Here is the message she received back:
"I think the obituary you have provided will be exactly what I need!  I cannot thank you enough!
You are a rock star!  I'm so impressed!  You are amazing!  Thank you so much!"

We think she was happy!
