A Very Successful Summer / Un Verano Muy Exitoso

We have had a very successful summer at the library, offering 14 programs for all ages. Nine hundred and seventy-six children and adults attended summer programs.  We enjoyed story time, programs with paid performers, and had an awesome Summer Reading Club. One hundred ninety children signed up for the Summer Reading Club, 120 finished or exceeded their goals and read a total of 5,042 books. We had a great time. The Public Library continues to break records on circulation with June and July topping 10,000!
Through our sponsors’ generosity, we were able to give away lots of prizes this year plus a pizza party for our summer readers and we gave away 150 packages of school supplies. Whether you volunteered your time, donated cash or food, read books, or attended programs, thank you for participating in our summer programs.
The Annual Friends of the Library 5K Fun Run Walk or Crawl will be September 21, 2013 at City Park on Texas Street. Call 903.856.3302 for details or swing by the library’s blog at http://pccpl.blogspot.com for forms and more information. We need sponsors and runners. All proceeds will benefit the Public Library.
For renewals, reserves, or to submit memorials, please contact the Public Library at 613 Quitman Street, Pittsburg, Texas 75686, 903-856-3302 or email us. 'Follow' our twitter feed, 'Like' us on Facebook or 'Circle' us on Google+.
